Description:
We are looking for a fast-learning, motivated and high-performing individual to join our team to help lead our Communications efforts. The Communications Manager will be responsible for helping to hone and deliver our message of effective change through all online and offline media, and create visibility for and consistently articulate STI’s mission. Flexibility in working across regions, time zones, and departments is required; as is the desire to grow with the organization.
Key responsibilities of the Communications Manager include:
Edit and produce case studies, summaries, presentations and content for all internal and outward facing communications
Coordinate activities related to managing the website; producing and tracking press releases and e-blasts, creating presentations, blog entries and social media announcements; and managing brand assets
Conduct research for projects related to fundraising and field projects as needed
Support video editing, develop infographics, and other design needs
Manage website inquiries, the Future Leaders volunteer program, and creative contractors
Qualifications/Skills:
- Ability to perform effectively in a virtual office environment
- Strong writing and research skills
- Social media experience (particularly Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn)
- Excellent design, layout, formatting, and photo editing skills, preferably using Adobe Suite
- Experience using WordPress and understanding of basic html
- Experience using Mail chimp or similar e-marketing system
- Familiarity with Gmail, Google Docs, and Google AdWords
Ideal candidates will hold a degree in communications, journalism, marketing, business, or similar. Experience in the non-profit sector and a keen interest in travel and sustainability is a plus.
