L’Oréal is experiencing rapid growth, and to further strengthen our position in the market we are looking for a Category Manager for our Luxury division with dedicated responsibility for our Makeup category. The role will have managerial responsibility for a team of 2 direct reports as well as 1 Graduate in charge of Visual Merchandising.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Develop a triple win (L’Oréal, Retailer and shopper) strategy as well as an adequate mix activation plan
  • Builds a “Selling story” and sets negotiation priorities
  • Build a strong and trustful relation with retailers, gain category captaincies and monitor category projects rollout
  • Act as the referent for all category questions
  • Support the commercial team in their business plan alignment with retailers, have the right shopper and category insights and perform market and category reviews
  • Help in internal arbitration between brands launches and activities when needed, based on data and insights
  • Plan, execute and evaluate coordinated launches and ensure delivery of brand messages both internally and external with full integration of business and marketing strategy
  • Adapts brand distribution strategy in the local market
  • Manage the most dynamic product portfolio in the division and collaborate across functions
  • Monitor, analyze and react to market data such as consumer insights, sell-in/out figures

  • Master or Bachelor within Management, Sales, Marketing or other relevant field
  • A strong and clear team leader with focus on structure and team synergies, proven track record as manager for Direct reports is preferable
  • Knowledge of the Norwegian Beauty/FMCG market is an advantage but not a prerequisite
  • Fluency in English and one of the Scandinavian languages
